A Christmas carol for this time with Jacek Cygan

Outstanding polish artists like Anna Dymna, Anna Jurksztowicz. Beata Rybotycka, Jacek Cygan, Krzysztof Antkowiak and Stanisław Soyka will perform in the concert series “A Christmas carol for this time with Jacek Cygan”. Those unusual concerts will take place in the first days of January 2022 in the most prestigious locations of Kraków, Poznań, Warszawa and Wrocław.

Jacek Cygan - the author of lyrics of over a thousand songs is also a poet, screenwriter, musical writer, juror and organizer of music festivals. If that’s not enough, for over 30 years this artist was creating the most beautiful, well-known Christmas carols and pastorals. One of his last compositions is the unusual “A Christmas carol for this time”, included in the title of a series of concerts planned for the next year. This carol was created at the special request of Anna Dymna at the pandemic time in 2020 as a symbol of this difficult time when the whole world stopped to face coronavirus. 

The series of concerts “A Christmas carol for this time with Jacek Cygan” is a lovely, musical proposition for a couple of first evenings of 2022. The concerts with their Christmas spirit, atmosphere of reflection and beautiful lyrics of the famous polish song writer are the recipe for the perfect, musical, winter time. 

• I am happy to invite you to an evening with my Christmas carols, which I have been creating for over 30 years with the best Polish composers. During the concerts you will see performances of some of my close friends. Let’s celebrate this magical Christmas time together - the time of kindness, forgiveness and hope. In the lyrics and melody of the carols we will find the symbolic first Christmas star, just like we do it everyday in the eyes of our loved ones - says Jacek Cygan.

Friends of Jacek Cygan who will sing the most beautiful carols during concerts are: Stanisław Soyka, Anna Jurksztowicz, Jerzy Filar, Krzysztof Antkowiak, Beata Rybotycka i Zosia Nowakowska. Anna Dymna and Jacek Cygan will host the evenings.

“The Christmas carol for this time with Jacek Cygan '' shows will be musical feasts. The audience will get to see the amazing “Kameleon Quintet”, a music group led by Radek Labahua. On the stage Mariusz Patyra with his string quintet will also perform - the musician is the only Polish violinist that won the Paganini competition in Genoa!
