Concert under the Tower “SUMMERTIME”

SUMMERTIME – it’s the theme of this year's edition of the Concert under the Tower, one of the most important musical events in southern Poland. In the beautiful mountains of Beskid Sądecki, Polish and international songs that have become part of the canon of summer hits will resound. A live concert in the sky amphitheater at the top of the Słotwiny Arena ski station (896 m above sea level) in Krynica-Zdrój will take place on August 27, 2022.

Summer hits combined with the views of Beskid Sądecki at the top of the Słotwiny Arena ski station is a proposal to spend one of your vacation days in Krynica-Zdrój. The annual concerts under the Tower have their own brand. This time, the fourth edition of this amazing event will take place. Each year the organizers have a different musical theme. After the film hits that sounded in the previous edition, the theme of this year's concert will be SUMMERTIME, which is the most beautiful summer hits, hot pieces of Cuban music, romantic tangos associated with dancing in the open air of Argentina ...

This year, the organizers of the Concert under the Tower invited renowned artists to participate in the event. The list is opened by Ewa Bem, who will sing, among others the title song of the concert "Summertime", as well as: "Żyj kolorowo", "Podaruj mi trochę słońca" or "Moje serce to jest muzyk". Patrycja and Jacek Kotlarscy will present Polish hits associated with summer, including: Tyle słońca w całym mieście", "Wakacje z Blondynką", "Historia Jednej Znajomości", "Dmuchawce, latawce, wiatr" and "Sunshine Reggae" from Bob Marley's repertoire or "You will never Find" originally sung by Michael Bublé. Classical music hits will also appear during the concert: Vivaldi's "Summer" from "Four Seasons" performed by Marcin Suszycki on the violin and Wiesław Prządka on accordion the overture to Bizet's opera "Carmen" performed by Wiesław Prządka with an orchestra, and immortal aria of Habanera sung by Gosha Kowalinska. Wiesław Prządka's band QUINTETO TANGO NUEVO will also perform two great hits by Astor Piazzolla. The star of Polish jazz, saxophonist Piotr Baron will present the most popular bossanovas by Antonio Carlos Jobim and together with Wiesław Prządka they will play a medley of popular Brazilian sambas. On the summer evening the audience will also hear the hottest hits of Cuban music from the movie BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB performed by Jose Torres and his group Havana Dream.

The soloists will be accompanied by the Silesian Art Collective Orchestra conducted by Mateusz Walach and the jazz section: Rafał Karasiewicz - piano, Marek Piątek - guitar, Zbigniew Wrombel - double bass, Paweł Twardoch - drums and Andrzej Mazurek - percussion instruments. Artur Andrus as a host will ensure a good dose of sublime humor during the evening.

SUMMERTIME, the Concert under the Tower 2022, will take place on August 27 at the top of the Słotwiny Arena ski station in Krynica-Zdrój. Each ticket will entitle to enter the lookout tower on the day of the concert between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and to travel by chairlift (up and down).
