Description of the event
One of the most charismatic violinists on the contemporary scene, has announced two special concerts in Poland — in Wrocław and Sopot. Both events will be part of the "Immortal" world tour, supporting the artist's latest album.
For years, David Garrett has been among the artists who can seamlessly blend the world of classical music with the energy of a modern spectacle. He has been doing so successfully for decades. He picked up the violin for the first time when he was just four years old. His talent was recognized very early — he made his stage debut at ten, and at the age of 13, he became the youngest artist ever to sign an exclusive contract with the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label. During that time, he collaborated with legendary conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Claudio Abbado, and Yehudi Menuhin. By the age of 15, he had recorded all 24 of Paganini’s Caprices. Later, he honed his skills at New York’s Juilliard School under the guidance of Itzhak Perlman. He was still a teenager when Yehudi Menuhin called him "the greatest violinist of his generation."
Throughout his career, Garrett has performed with the world's most distinguished conductors and orchestras, including the Vienna Symphony, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Filarmonica della Scala, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. His previous classical album, "Iconic," achieved significant success, earning Gold status and winning the Opus Klassik 2023 award in the "Bestseller of the Year" category.
His latest classical album, "Immortal," opens a new chapter in David Garrett's artistic journey. The violinist revisits works by history's greatest composers, creating new, custom arrangements for each. The album features works by Mozart, Bach, Debussy, Tchaikovsky, Paganini, Wieniawski, and John Williams, with Garrett himself crafting all the arrangements. The album was recorded with The Prezent orchestra and pianist Julien Quentin.
The title "Immortal" reflects the artist's belief that true art, especially music, transcends time. "When we talk about things close to immortality, art — and music in particular — undoubtedly belongs in that category," says David Garrett. The standard version of the album contains 20 tracks, while the deluxe edition features 25. The musician also emphasizes that the project was prepared entirely with immense care for authenticity and the personal character of his interpretations.
The "Immortal" album will be released on October 9. The world tour promoting the record will kick off in February 2027, with Poland as one of its stops.
The upcoming concerts will offer local fans their first opportunity to hear the music from "Immortal" live. The new arrangements of masterpieces by history's greatest composers, Garrett's signature violin sound, and the unique concert venues are set to create a truly exceptional combination.
