Description of the event
The exceptional music project "Czułe struny" is back! Natalia Kukulska will sing the greatest compositions of Fryderyk Chopin. Etude in E major and Polonaise in A-flat major, in an extraordinary vocal version and surprising arrangement, will once again delight the Polish audience. The concerts "Czułe struny" will sound on April 29 and 30, 2024, in exclusive locations: at the Grand Theatre - National Opera in Warsaw and at the NOSPR hall in Katowice. The organizer of both performances is the Prestige MJM agency.
Natalia Kukulska is primarily known for pop music, but at the same time, she constantly seeks new solutions and draws inspiration from unconventional creators. It was through such musical explorations that the vocalist encountered Fryderyk Chopin, whose compositions had so far been associated with the piano and orchestra. And why not create lyrics for the music known to all and name the emotions that flow from it in her own way? That's exactly what the artist did, writing half of the lyrics for the album herself, and for the remaining ones, she invited esteemed authors and artists: Mela Koteluk, Kayah, Gaba Kulka, Natalia Grosiak (Mikromusic), and Bovska. The arrangements were entrusted to the best conductors and arrangers in Poland: Krzysztof Herdzin, Nikola Kołodziejczyk, Adam Sztaba, Paweł Tomaszewski, and Jan Smoczyński. When the material was ready, Natalia Kukulska invited Sinfonia Varsovia and wonderful musicians like Michał Dąbrówka, Robert Kubiszyn, and Piotr Wrombel for the recordings. In this way, the extraordinary album "Czułe struny" was created in 2020, featuring well-known compositions by Fryderyk Chopin in a remarkably different and surprising vocal version. The album's high level was also enhanced by the guest participation of the eminent pianist Janusz Olejniczak, whose interpretations of the Polish composer's works are esteemed worldwide. Almost 100 people were creatively and executively involved in the recording of "Czułe struny". The entire project – bold and exceptional – was hailed as the grandest artistic production in the domestic phonographic market and an unprecedented event worldwide. A similar album would be hard to find.
Following the release of the album, Natalia Kukulska performed at several concerts where she sang Chopin's music. On January 29 and 31, 2022, the artist took the stage in front of the audience in what she calls her "life project" – "Czułe struny" - at the ICE Cracow Congress Centre and the National Forum of Music in Wroclaw. These concerts, organized by the Prestige MJM agency, were a musical highlight of the beginning of the past year. This exceptional material was met with applause from the audience, who received Natalia Kukulska's performance with tremendous enthusiasm. On stage in Cracow and Wroclaw, she was accompanied by the excellent Beethoven Academy Orchestra conducted by Adam Sztaba, Krzysztof Herdzin, Nikola Kołodziejczyk, Paweł Tomaszewski, and Jan Smoczyński.
Now it's time for the next "Czułe struny" concerts. These will be all the more exceptional as they will take place in locations considered the best in Poland. Even Fryderyk Chopin himself wouldn't be ashamed of performances in these places! They are: the Grand Theatre - National Opera in Warsaw and the NOSPR hall in Katowice. Fans of the artist's talent and her Chopin discoveries will surely be delighted.
"I am sure that experiencing such emotions live and immersing oneself in the exquisite nuances of arrangements and performances will be a grand experience for both the performers and the audience. I'm looking forward to these encounters with Chopin's music, the orchestra, conductors, and the audience. It will be a celebration for me!" says Natalia Kukulska, who proudly admits that "Czułe struny" is also the musical fulfillment of her dreams.
Both concerts will take place next year: the Warsaw concert on April 29, and the Katowice concert the following day, April 30.
